The iMERMAID project actively participated in the 4th REMEDIES Clustering Meeting, titled “(Micro)plastics: How to Prepare for Tomorrow?” Held as a hybrid event in Ljubljana, Slovenia, and online, the meeting brought together key stakeholders and experts to discuss the challenges and solutions surrounding microplastics. The event, part of Slovenia’s “Science Month,” was jointly organized by the National Institute of Chemistry and the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Innovation of Slovenia.
The iMERMAID project, represented by Maria Zafeiropoulou from APCL, contributed to the meeting’s final session, “Synergies between Mission Ocean & Waters Projects,” sharing insights into the project’s main objectives, methodology, and key findings. Special emphasis was placed on iMermaid’s five use cases, which showcase its innovative approach to tackling microplastics. APCL also took the opportunity to introduce the upcoming Open Call II, encouraging broader collaboration and engagement with the project.
The session featured four EU-funded projects, moderated by Tit Neubauer from Slovenia’s Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Innovation, underscoring the importance of synergy in advancing sustainable solutions for our oceans and waters.
