iMERMAID Call for Evaluators
Extended Demonstration of iMERMAID innovative solutions in associated regions of the Mediterranean
Purpose
iMERMAID aims to establish a pool of experts to support the review and selection process of the proposals we receive under our Open Call #1: Extended Demonstration of iMERMAID innovative solutions in associated regions of the Mediterranean.
About the iMERMAID project
The iMERMAID project is bringing together smart solutions to prevent and monitor contaminants of emerging concern (CoECs) in the Mediterranean Sea. iMERMAID has opened its first open call for Associated Regions, where successful regional and local authorities located in EU Member States and in Associated Countries can benefit from the technologies developed in the project. Through its Open Call #1, iMERMAID will invest €400,000 to fund and support 4 associated regions that will propose use cases, addressing their specific challenges and objectives related to CoECs. Associated Regions will work with the iMERMAID consortium to develop their use-case and to demonstrate the feasibility, replicability and scalability of solutions developed in iMERMAID.
Evaluators profile
We are looking for experts in any of the following domains:
- Water Treatment
- WasteWater Treatment
- Water Quality
- Water Management
- Water Supply
- Chemistry
- BlueTech
- Blue Economy
- Environmental Health
Experts should show a demonstrated understanding and proven track record in the technical areas corresponding to the iMERMAID Open Call #1 addressed topics:
- Upstream chemical pollution detection: monitoring, mapping and hot spot identification
- Solutions against upstream water chemical pollution: prevention, reduction, and remediation
Experts will be evaluated based on their professional experience and expertise in the aforementioned areas, as well as previous experience in evaluating proposals submitted to EU and FSTP programmes.

What is expected from the external evaluators
The services to be provided will be done remotely and will involve the evaluation of a selection of applications submitted to the iMERMAID Open Call #1.
The evaluation process consists of:
- evaluation of proposals
- consensus meetings between the evaluators for the same applications
- development and validation of consensus evaluation reports
Evaluators selected to participate in the evaluation will be required to sign a non-conflict of interest declaration and a contract with the CORTEX2 project, before being accepted to evaluate any application
Remuneration
Selected evaluators will be reimbursed for their time and effort based on the number of applications evaluated (minimum number to be agreed), with each application corresponding to a value of €50 considering all the services required.
