The iMERMAID project was proudly featured at the Atlantic & Arctic Lighthouse Weekly Hour on Unmanned Systems & Digital Innovation (S03E14), held on October 1st.

Representing iMERMAID, Giasmin Cecconi from SMAT (Società Metropolitana Acque Torino) presented insights from one of the project’s pilot sites in Brandizzo, Turin, Italy. During the session, Cecconi showcased the implementation of two innovative technologies developed within iMERMAID — the Heavy Metal Sensor Box and the 4D Scavenger — designed for real-time detection and removal of heavy metals in wastewater treatment processes.

These solutions exemplify iMERMAID’s mission to provide effective, scalable, and sustainable technologies that address Contaminants of Emerging Concern (CECs) in aquatic environments, contributing to cleaner and safer water systems across Europe.

The webinar, organised by the F6S Innovation Blue Economy Synergy and hosted by Blue Mission AA, brought together several Horizon Europe projects, including Remedies, ADT4Blue, Effective, I-SEAMORE, and AutoASSES. Each presented innovative approaches to advancing digitalisation, automation, and sustainability in marine and freshwater systems.
