On September 26th, 2025, iMERMAID took part in the European Researchers’ Night in Graz, Austria, an event organized by life is science that brought together more than 750 visitors eager to explore the world of science.

Our project partner Armengaud Innovate GmbH hosted an interactive “Hands-on Station”, where Marcela Permann Doubkova guided children through a fascinating experiment showing how water pollution impacts ecosystems. Through observation and discussion, young participants discovered the importance of protecting water as a shared resource.

The event also provided an excellent opportunity to showcase the iMERMAID Schooling Workbook — developed with the support of H2O People — which introduces key concepts about contaminants of emerging concern and promotes water awareness among students.

Engaging directly with children and families allowed iMERMAID to bring science closer to the public, fostering curiosity and environmental responsibility among the next generation.
