The iMERMAID project has officially launched a public questionnaire to engage citizens in the fight against Contaminants of Emerging Concern (CoEC).
The project aims to develop and test innovative solutions to prevent and monitor pollution across the Mediterranean basin. While technical solutions like our pilot plants in Spain, Italy, Cyprus, Tunisia, and Greece are vital, social awareness is equally critical to achieving a zero-pollution environment.
Why Your Opinion Matters
The survey seeks to understand public habits and perceptions regarding water management. By collecting data from a wide range of citizens, iMERMAID can better design education and awareness strategies to prevent chemical compounds from entering our water systems in the first place.
The survey focuses on three key pillars:
- Water Quality Protection: Understanding how citizens prevent pollution at the source.
- Wastewater Reuse: Assessing public sentiment toward circular water solutions.
- Domestic Consumption: Identifying areas where water efficiency can be improved at home.
Participation Details:
The questionnaire is available online and takes approximately 8 minutes to complete. It is entirely anonymous and does not require any personal data.

- Closing Date: March 22, 2026.
By participating, you are contributing directly to the protection of the Mediterranean ecosystem and helping us ensure clean water for future generations.
