Open Call 1 ““Extended Demonstration of iMERMAID solutions in associated regions of the Mediterranean” with a total of €400 000 to fund up to four projects is open until the 17th of September.

The iMERMAID project is reaching an important milestone with the launch of its first open call for local and regional authorities, open for applications until the 17th of September 2024. This initiative, managed by iMERMAID’s project partner – F6S, invites authorities to submit their unique use cases that address specific challenges and goals, aligning with iMERMAID’s mission and objectives to enhance water chemical monitoring and remediation.

This open call is more than just an opportunity to receive funding—it’s a chance to be part of a groundbreaking effort to combat pollution from chemicals of emerging concern (CoEC). Successful applicants will be supported in developing comprehensive roadmaps, plans, and projects aimed at preventing, eliminating, and remediating these pollutants.

F6S, as the manager of the iMERMAID Open Calls, is eagerly anticipating the submissions and is committed to guiding the successful applicants through this transformative journey. The selected beneficiaries will not only benefit from cutting-edge technologies but will also play a crucial role in refining these solutions, helping to align them more closely with the needs of the target market and stakeholders.

Applications can be submitted until the 17th of September, 17.00 CEST (Brussels time) through the iMERMAID submission page (hosted by F6S). The evaluation and selection process will take place between September and October 2024, following the procedure outlined in the iMERMAID Annex 1 Guidelines for Applicants, available on the open call webpage. Contracts will be finalized in November, with project implementation scheduled from December 2024 to August 2025.

Looking ahead, a second open call will be launched in January 2025, extending the invitation to countries beyond the Mediterranean region, enabling a wider audience to benefit from iMERMAID’s specialized technical knowledge and solutions.

We encourage local and regional authorities from eligible Mediterranean countries to apply until the 17th of September and join us in this innovative and impactful project. Together, we can make a significant difference in addressing the critical issue of water pollution.
